Juneteenth Celebration

In honor of Juneteenth on June 17, Washington Crossing Historic Park (PA) will host several free special events and activities that will educate visitors about the contribution of African American soldiers during the American Revolution.
Lecture: Black Soldiers of the American Revolution
The day will begin at 3:30 PM in the park’s Visitor Center auditorium with a free lecture that will highlight the experience of Black soldiers during the American Revolution. Presenters will include reenactor and first-person historian Noah Lewis and Linda Salley, president and executive director of the African American Museum of Bucks County. Registration is required. Free Outdoor Jazz Concert
At 5:00 PM jazz vocalist Joyce Simpson and The Quake Band will perform a free outdoor concert on the park’s riverbank. During the concert, park reenactors will share short presentations about the role Black soldiers played in the Revolution.
No registration is required for concert. Attendees are welcome to bring their own chairs and blankets. Alcohol is not permitted in the park. Food will be available from Daddy’s Kitchen and M&E Edibles Cake DeZigns and Catering. Four-legged friends are welcome but must be leashed and under control at all times.
The park’s Juneteenth events are presented in partnership with Bloomberg and the African American Museum of Bucks County.
