Free Lecture on Alexander Hamilton

Historical analyst Rand Scholet will present a free public lecture on Alexander Hamilton’s relationship with Washington at the park’s Visitor Center on May 17 at 7 PM. Admission is free.

His talk is titled “Alexander Hamilton: America’s Indispensable Founder and Visionary.” He will compare two distinct visions that competed for the new nation’s attention and the degree to which each of seven key Founding Fathers contributed to building the nation’s vital foundations that we live with today. The key Founding Fathers assessed include George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, John Adams, James Madison and John Jay.

Mary Anne Hamilton, widow of the great-great-grandson of Alexander Hamilton, will be in attendance, along with renowned Hamilton actor, Ian Rose, who has portrayed this founding father in movies and television.

Scholet is president and founder of the Alexander Hamilton Awareness Society. A frequent speaker and sought-after scholar on the life of Alexander Hamilton, he has been featured on C-SPAN, at several National Park sites, and numerous historical societies. This event is sponsored by the Alexander Hamilton Awareness (AHA) Society and AHA Pennsylvania Chapter President Joseph Kelly.
